Frank John Hearl, SM, PE, FAIHA Frank John Hearl, PE, built a 46-year

conferences, authored seven Synergist articles, and, since 2011, has chaired the International Task Force for Children’s Environmental Health, producing an AIHA reference document on childhood lead exposure in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Roland Everett Langford, PhD, CIH, CSP, RS, PE, FAIHA safety programs across three careers: as a US Army Environmental Science Officer retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, as Global Manager at a major multinational petrochemical firm, and as a civilian OEHS engineer with the US Army and Army Corps of Engineers. He has conducted audits and projects in more than twenty countries and is the author of three books, including the international bestseller, Weapons of Mass Destruction: Chemical, Biological, and Radiological (Wiley, 2004). He served for 28 years on the National Library of Medicine’s Hazardous Substances Data Bank Scientific Review Panel, eight of them as chair, and was instrumental in developing Emergency Response Planning Guidelines. A continuous AIHA member for 43 years, Dr. Langford served on the Emergency Response Roland Everett Langford, PhD, CIH, CSP, RS, PE, has led occupational and environmental health and Planning Committee for 20 years and has taught at six universities across his career. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Sanitarians, a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemists, and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He has presented at national and international conferences, including a biannual CIH preparation course in Shanghai. Silvia I. Maberti, PhD, FAIHA Silvia I. Maberti, PhD, has been a leading contributor to the advancement of exposure science methodology, with expertise in exposure modeling, dermal exposure assessment, and the harmonization of industrial hygiene methods with EPA and international regulatory frameworks. She has served as a primary AIHA representative at US EPA exposure science workshops and as a key leader in the AIHA TSCA Advisory Group, where she has developed templates that align EPA and AIHA approaches to occupational exposure assessment. Her work extends to allied professional organizations, including the Society of Toxicology, the Society for

career at NIOSH, culminating in nearly 18 years as Chief of Staff in the Office of the Director, where he coordinated agency responses to Congress, provided senior policy guidance on respiratory protection, asbestos, and silica, and served as NIOSH’s principal liaison to HHS and the CDC Washington office. He holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from MIT, is a Fellow of the Society for Risk Analysis, and has been lead author on at least ten peer- reviewed publications and a contributing author to multiple editions of Patty’s Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology . He most recently served as invited Plenary Speaker at the 42nd Annual Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists Conference. Since retiring from NIOSH in 2022, Mr. Hearl has joined four AIHA advisory groups, the Risk Committee, and the JOEH Board, bringing decades of policy and scientific expertise directly into AIHA’s volunteer work. He spent nearly two decades as an adjunct professor of industrial engineering at West Virginia University, co-developing a three-credit OSH course for chemical engineers, and has been a continuous member of both ACGIH and the British Occupational Hygiene Society for decades. Andrey A. Korchevskiy, PhD, DABT, CIH, FAIHA and toxicological models for assessing health risks from elongate mineral particles, asbestos, nanoparticles, and other hazards. He authored the CRC Press book, Elongate Mineral Particles: Characterization, Classification, and Risk Analysis , and co-edited the 2024 Wiley volume, Health Risk Assessment for Asbestos and Other Fibrous Minerals . His policy contributions include standards development through ASTM, ISO, and OECD, and he advised Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Environmental Protection in drafting its Environmental Code and sustainable development strategy. Within AIHA, Dr. Korchevskiy has served as Chair of the Standards Advisory Panel (2019–2022) and Chair of the Risk Committee since 2024 and has been an AIHA Distinguished Lecturer since 2017. He has led 17 multi-hour professional development courses at AIHA Connect and international Andrey A. Fellows The Fellows designation recognizes AIHA members in good standing with at least 15 years of consecutive Full membership who have made recognized contributions to industrial hygiene or related disciplines, through research, leadership, publications, education, or service to AIHA. 2026 FELLOWS Muhammad Akram, PhD, CHMM, FAIHA the first M.Phil. degree program in Occupational Health and Safety at the University of the Punjab and establishing its IH laboratory with equipment contributed by US colleagues. He contributed technical expertise to the drafting of the Punjab Occupational Safety and Health Act of 2019 and has conducted research on respiratory hazards, ergonomic disorders, and heat-related illness among underserved worker populations. Muhammad Akram, PhD, CHMM, has made exceptional contributions to occupational health education and practice in Pakistan, founding Serving as AIHA Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Akram has worked to connect students facing significant barriers to international participation with the broader global profession, presenting research at AIHA Connect on behalf of students who were unable to attend. One of his students received the Best Student Poster Award at AIHce EXP 2020. He has served as a member and former president of AIHA’s International Affairs Committee and donated hundreds of OHS books to Pakistani institutions to support the growth of the profession there. He currently serves as Senior Safety Engineer at Boeing Global Services and previously spent 14 years as Principal Safety Engineer at JPL/NASA, where he developed the Chemical Hygiene Program, the Industrial Hygiene Sampling Program, and NASA’s first Rapid Chemical Procurement Program. A member of AIHA for nearly 40 years, Behar has served on the Protective Clothing and Equipment Committee for over 25 years, holding every leadership role from secretary through past chair. He has also served as chair of the Government Regulatory Affairs Committee and consistently contributed to OSHA Tiger Teams, responding to proposed federal standards, including the COVID ETS and the proposed federal heat stress standard. Shawn Gibbs, PhD, MBA, CIH, FAIHA shaped federal policy and occupational health practice. With over 130 peer-reviewed publications, he helped design the protocols used to safely treat Ebola patients in the United States as Director of Research at the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit and has briefed the White House, Congress, and the US Surgeon General on infectious disease response. He received the AIHA Edward J. Baier Technical Achievement Award in 2018 and chaired a 2025 National Academies workshop on PPE for avian influenza H5N1 in agricultural settings. A US Fulbright Scholar and current member of the Board for Global EHS Credentialing, Dr. Gibbs has conducted industrial hygiene work across multiple countries and served as COVID-19 Czar at Texas A&M University. Within AIHA, he has been a Distinguished Lecturer since 2019, a prolific presenter at AIHA Connect, and the author of four feature articles in The Synergist . He has mentored numerous students whose work has been recognized with AIHA awards.
