Going GREEN! To help reduce waste and AIHA Connect’s footprint on the environment, AIHA and our suppliers have partnered on the following initiatives:
• Transitioning the printed Advance Program and Final Program to fully digital, eliminating paper product, fuel, and emissions used to transport programs via mail. • Reducing the Final Program page count by listing session descriptions and exhibitor company addresses and descriptions online. • Ticketless registration. • Digital CONNECTzone Pathway game found in the mobile app/virtual platform. • Digital signage outside meetings rooms and for directions. • Badges made from recycled materials, which can also be recycled. • Banners and signs made of eco-board. • Recycle stations for paper, cans and bottles, badges/lanyards, and other items located throughout the KCCC meeting space.
• Water bottle refill stations located throughout the KCCC. • Aramark Catering offers biodegradable, recyclable, and compostable service ware. They also work with Pete’s Garden, a local food pantry to turn any unserved food into healthy, balanced, ready-to-heat meals for Kansas City families. • Loews Hotels partner with Goodr, a sustainable food waste management company that uses logistics and technology to fight hunger and climate change. Goodr utilizes apps and logistics networks, such as Uber Eats, to pick up excess and expiring food items from hotels and restaurants and donates them to local nonprofit organizations.
