Honeywell FM&T is a management and operations contractor with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). At the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), their core mission is supporting the NNSA’s Directed Stockpile Work/ Nuclear Weapons Program mission where they focus on developing, producing, procuring, and delivering over 80 percent of all nonnuclear components in support of the US nuclear deterrent. You will tour the Honeywell FM&T hall and visit the IH Lab. After the tour, you will gather for a presentation and Q&A.
Labconco is a 100-year-old market leader in exposure control devices, including Chemical Fume Hoods and Biological Safety Cabinets. This tour is an in-depth look at their manufacturing facility and headquarters located 15 minutes from the Convention Center. Come see a Biological Safety Cabinet come to life from metal fabrication, to paint, through assembly and testing. This tour includes a close-up look at Labconco’s airflow test laboratory and Biological Safety Cabinet test suite. Additionally, you will hear from Labconco Mechanical Engineers, Microbiologists, and Chemical Engineers on the future of hazard exposure control in the laboratory and workplace.
